We love the rain, but the high probability of thunderstorms this afternoon has led us to cancel today’s Hahamongna Walkabout.
What is the future of Hahamongna? Will we treat it as a river or as a maintenance yard? That’s the challenge that our generation faces.
The Fifth Annual Hahamongna Walkabout will feature programs that are working to restore and enhance Hahamongna as a unique natural treasure with a living river flowing through it.
Highlights will include:
- The Los Angeles River Rover
- Presentations on the importance of sediment and County Flood
- Control District’s Big Dig program
- the Arroyo Seco Canyon Project
- Hahamongna Nursery

Hahamongna Walkabout is a journey of discovery in our region’s most environmentally rich and rare spot. Participants can view the exhibits and take an escorted walking tour of Hahamongna, stopping at strategically placed learning stations to learn about recreation, habitat, wildlife, birds and water resources in this unique basin at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains.
