MOTA Day offers a free afternoon of local history and fun for all ages, at six museums located along the celebrated Arroyo Seco in Los Angeles and Pasadena.

Six museums in Los Angeles and Pasadena open their doors, free of charge.

Each year, thousands experience the diverse mix of art, architecture and history of the Arroyo Seco area found in the six unique history-based museums that preserve and perpetuate early Los Angeles life. Discover what continues to make the Arroyo Seco a bustling, vibrant arts-driven community that crosses neighborhoods and social boundaries.

Visitors are encouraged to pace themselves while trying to see all six museums in one day. It is advised to pick three museums and explore at a leisurely pace.

Arrive early. Additional parking was added. You can easily use the Gold Line, or bike to it.

Free activities, tours, and exhibitions are also open at the Gamble House, Heritage Square Museum, the Lummis Home and Garden, the Los Angeles Police Museum, and the Southwest Museum.

      > Last museum entrance is at 4:00 p.m. Free, no reservations required. Click here for more details.
