      school of rock

School of Rock is a brand new musical based on the famous Paramount film written by Mike White, which starred Jack Black.

      Auditions: October 1, 2:00 – 5:00pm

      Callbacks: October 2, 12:00 – 3:00pm

      Performances: December 9, 10, 11, & 16, 17, 18

      Rehearsals: Tuesdays, 4:00 – 9:00 and Saturdays, 1:00 – 6:00pm

Seeking: Actors ages 6 – 18, all roles open

Note: Students interested in playing Dewey, Zack, Freddie, Katie, & Lawrence will need to play live on stage!

      Preparation

Students please prepare one 16 bar contemporary musical theatre song and one 16 bar rock and roll song in the style of the show. One song should be a contrasting ballad and one an up-tempo. Actor’s choice.

You must be signed up for a Fall Session Class. Please check our website for class listings www.theatre360.org

You can also sign up for an audition spot online!

The musical follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabee rock star who decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. Completely disinterested in academic work, Dewey decides to create his own curriculum, turning his class into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. The stage musical on Broadway is produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber, who has composed 14 new songs to create a score, which also features all of the original songs from the movie. School of Rock, with its sensational live kids’ rock band, is a loving testimony to the transforming power of music. May the spirit of rock be with you!
