A free, fun, futuristic-themed art show with pictures of the future on display by participants in the City’s popular Adaptive Recreation Art program will be held at the Armory Center for the Arts.
A special opening reception will be held 3-5 p.m., Saturday, July 16 at the Armory with light refreshments will be served. Admission is free and several of the artists will be there with their artwork.
This year’s cover is by artist Mark Anderson of San Marino, whose fanciful depiction of space invaders coming to Earth is captured in views on television as well as from the home’s windows. The colorful drawing is entitled, “The Martian Invasion will be Televised.” (Exhibit booklets will be available for purchase with a suggested,tax-deductible, $10 minimum).
For the duration of the special exhibit, the Armory Center’s Community Room will be open free of charge to the public on Saturdays and Sundays, Noon to 5 p.m., starting July 16, 2016 through September 9, 2016.
The City’s Human Services and Recreation Department provides the Adaptive Recreation Art program for artists with disabilities who live in the greater Pasadena area.*
